Microshit has lost billions lately on lawsuits and is going to loose a shit load more so I for one would not buy his shit as they are going under. LINUX is the place to be, just watch the next 5 - 10 years. Microshit Billy has tried to enter the hosting industry and failed miserably with MSN (Microsoft Network) and he thinks he can control the world by not developing Operating Systems. Over here, it takes a bit more than 2 seconds occasionally.

Specs: Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 Legitimate, E160G HSDPA modem.

If you're just loading up a small-medium text file, usually it's just 1 second or less.
A large text file will take a tad longer.

Eclipse.org takes about 6 seconds to load.
Microsoft.org is 8 seconds. (And they want to UPGRADE the downloads area?)
Apple.org: 13 seconds. (o_0)
Cprogramming.com: 10 seconds.

I can say as a .NET enterprise software architect - that Microsoft needs to slow the fuck down on their releases and take just a *little* more time refining it before they shovel another bucket shit down our throats *cough* silverlight *cough* I have been working with Version 2 and just converted to 3 - it has been abysmal to say the least - and the crap we run into operating the site in IE 8 compared to Chrome or Firefox is unparalleled. When I see that Microsoft's shitty attempt to thwart Flash runs better on someone else's browser - I don't know whether to laugh or cry - well I have been doing this for about 15 years now and I am stuck - but all you n00bs out there getting into the field - RUN! Start working with Rails or something else or at least make sure you don't start playing with Microsoft technology that has not been fully refined to at least a livable working point. I am so sick of hacking my way around their bugs I could puke.

Why are all these places still selling XP despite Microsoft's clear instructions that only Vista be available? Because the public at large has spoken loudly and proclaimed Vista to be "worthless garbage". The consumer is demanding what they want, and that is XP. XP may not be the most desireable choice, but M$ isn't giving people a true choice. So XP it is.

Countless OEM system builders have reported over and over that their business is dropping rapidly because M$ won't supply them with copies of XP anymore, and so people quit buying those machines. Many have since turned to Apple computers because OS X just plain runs better and is EASIER to learn and make use of. As a result, Apple has seen a steady rise in their market share. In the US it's up to 7% now, from just under 1% right before the Vista launch. In Europe the figures are approaching 15%. This is for desktops mind you. On the laptop front Apple should hit 20% share of the US market by the end of this year. And as soon as the game manufacturers see the potential audience they're missing, the market share for Apple systems will rise even higher as gamers begin to be able to take advantage of superior hardware and a superior OS. They will in turn drive Apple's hardware ever skyward just like they've done for the PC market over the last 15 years.

It's coming people. The Apple revolution is already underway. Ditch those Vista boxes now!
