ummm...it doesn't work that way. if only it did! it is a violation of a court order, but you have to go through the process...and if the deadbeat is in FL, forget about it. Enforcement is a joke there. They consider the interest of the deadbeat over the interest of the children before the court. If the deadbeat is in a state like TX, you'll have much better luck - they don't mess around and voluntarily not working is not an excuse there - you'll be jailed asap. if not already done, the best bet is to apply for enforcement services through the state CSE office in which you live. If the deadbeat is out of state, they will have to do interstate enforcement. If he has a job, they can garnish. If he skips jobs or works under the table like extreme deadbeats do, they can be ordered to seek work or have a lein placed on their assets. States don't do as much as they should/can even. Good luck. It's hard, but you gotta keep pushing, for the sake of the child.
