Ubuntu what are you thinking with Unity?!

What is this Unity crap that Ubuntu is trying to push onto users these days? This new window manager that is now the "standard" that comes with Ubuntu and is the default window manager is the slowest, buggiest most un-user friendly user interface I have ever seen or used.

This pile of crap is practically unresponsive on an older machine and can take several minutes for the desktop to even open a window when it first starts up, and afterwards it takes so long to even open a menu or program.

I recently tried to introduce Linux to a friend who just went back to school and decided to focus on a career on computer networking. I explained to him all the benefits of Linux and why he should give it a try. So we took a fairly new netbook that was only a year old and installed Ubuntu on it as it is one of the better distros to "simply work" on netbooks.

Install went fine, and it found all the hardware (amazing!) and then this ugly, slow confusing window manager loads up called Unity. After 2 hours of trying to use this awful window manager and trying to load up a different one and giving up on trying to search online trying to find how to use a different manager we finally found how how to use a different window manager. Oh we could find a new one to use, but you Cannot uninstall Unity!

For those of you who want to know how to use a different window manager instead of Unity all you need to do is logout and when you are brought to the login screen choose a different installed window manager from the drop down menu. You will not see this screen unless you Manually logout since on startup and shutdown you never see the login screen (because the system automatically logs you in, wow that's secure!).

Ubuntu pull your head out of your ass and give people the Choice of window manager they want to use during the setup. Unity is only usable if you are using a very high end machine (I wouldn't try it on anything less than a quad core with 6 gigs of ram).

This Unity piece of crap dosen't come close to compete with Gnome or even Kde. Why they have decided to try making a tablet Os that is also used on a desktop is beyond me. Microsoft is doing the same thing with the next version of Windows so you should know its a bad idea. People do Not Want a tablet Os on their desktop / laptop. Stop making your users use one!

damn.....so I am getting this fucking looping reboot seconds after the Windows splash screen. Did nothing different, just started. Couldn't solve it, so I just Nuked it. Got Windows re-installed and it booted fine. Then I started re-installing drivers...BLAM...endless looping BSOD again! So a hours worth of staring at the screen to catch a glimpse at the error code...I found out it's the chipset driver, nv4_mini.sys! What the Fuck, it's the same damn driver I have always used,why now, all of a sudden does it fuck with my rig?

I know it is terribley nerdy of me, but I can not sleep when something is wrong with my rig! I built this from scratch, it is my baby. I know every wire, capcitor and chip in it! It pisses me off so much when it get's fucked with now and then by some poorly designed software, driver..and more often or not, a Windows Update! So now I sit here online with my incredably TINY e-reader.....waiting while I nuke the main drive for the second time in two days!

Why did you take their site down? Why did you even bother them in the first place? That website is just as cool as JustRage. There was no need to be jealous. Did you really think this was the only rant site on the internet?

Why couldn't you just get along with them? The webmasters could have linked to each other, but no... you all had to fuck shit up.

This community is no better than /b/, which DDOS's websites they don't like. Go fuck yourselves.

Customer Service Hell

This is for my internet provider, my cell phone provider and other companies that make you talk to a computer for customer service. I absolutely hate talking to customer service that's a computer. You waste so much god damn time repeating yourself. They ask a question & you answer, then it says, "I didn't understand that" & you have to repeat yourself. I can waste an entire lunch break & get no where. Can you understand this, "fuck you, fuck you, fuck you" & when my contract is up, I'm fucking canceling you & going to another company & I will ask, "do I get to speak to a human or a fucking computer when I have a problem?" What ever happened to humans helping you over the phone that speak english clearly? That's another issue I have, foreigners that work customer service with accents you can't understand what they say. I just want to talk to someone with a clear voice that I don't have to have them repeat themselves & get off the phone in under 10 minutes or less.

encryption gives us privacy, even when you don't know about it. when you vpn over a secure connection, no one in between can read your data. when you buy pron on ebay, your purchase information is encrypted. when you make that secure voip call on how to murder, skin and burn all homophobes, you do it via an encrypted channel.
the stupid fuckin gov now want to build back doors into crypto systems, so that they can decrypt and read any secure info they want. and we all know how credible the us gov fbi is with privacy of individuals.

Just about every fucking link on the Amazon web site is a MIND FUCK!!! This site has numerous links that don't describe the web page it navigates too. And FUCK! Who the fuck design the signoff link??? You signon as John and if you want to logoff you have to click on: "Not John?"!? WTF!? I am "John"!!! So does this mean that if I click on "Not John?" my purchases will be cancelled and my computer will be tag as "Not really John"!? FUCKING STUPID SHIT!!! It doesn't make sense. Remember when the Internet was ad-free? Nobody thought it would end up becoming interactive television. Now, every fucking site I go on, I try to work and browse in silence and peace and out of nowhere, I hear some fucking audio from some ad that takes fucking minutes to find among all that clutter on the webpage and it's almost always for alcohol or some sort of porn site. God-fucking-damn it, if I wanted to buy your products or join your services, I'll let you fucking know. Commercials are just about the #1 reason why I don't watch fucking television, so I don't need to fucking put up with it on the fucking Internet. I would love to be able to keep my headphones on at all times and not have to worry about getting the fucking shit startled out of me with some stupid ad for alcohol (when I don't even fucking drink) or cereal or lotion or whatever the fuck it is. Keep your fucking advertising out of my Internet and stay confined to TV or print ads.

The internet used to be a helpful tool in getting information on anything. Slowly over the past decade, it has sunk into a playground for idiots. When you ask for advice online, you have to dig through all the idiotic and abusive comments to get anything useful.

On a popular website yesterday, I asked the community on how to get an entry level temp job in data entry. The results? 45% told me to show off my breasts at the job interview. Another 45% told me to fill out a job application. Thankfully the last 10% informed me that I could go to a temp agency.

I feel like the internet is becoming more and more like the movie Idiocracy with Luke Wilson.

YouTube keeps deleting my fucking videos because they are a bunch of savage kikes who consider everything copyright infringement. They throw a fucking fit if there are any copyrighted characters or videos or commercials, yet they do nothing about the thousands (maybe millions) of videos of illegal activities and just plain stupidity.
