Justrage Site updates

decay raged 12 months ago —— I have been doing site updates for about 20 hours now. There have been several fixes and changes which will hopefully make things more interesting.

Some of the changes are:

More spam protection for posting comments and rages. Captcha for anonymous posting is currently disabled while we test these new spam features out. If spam gets out of control we will need to add captcha again.

Posting rages has been updated. Rage submissions should not be lost any longer if you fail the captcha, and there are not better validations on the different fields. The downside is the fancy editor will be disabled for a while.

Voting and Karma have been updated, this should help out with rages getting pushed to the front page (if logged in users will vote rages up).

Several security fixes have been added.

Proformance tuning. The site didn't really need more, but it doesn't hurt.

Not added yet but next on my list is a site chat and messaging system. Users will be able to chat with one another or send private messages, join different chat rooms, etc. Anonymous users should be able to use it along with logged in users but we will be testing this out to see how it goes.

If I have the time and energy I have some fixes that I will hopefully get to for profiles and image uploading.

What else needs to be done?

The users online feature was a pile of crap and was displaying all kinds of fucked up info. If you had logged into a different account with the same IP address it would show both accounts as logged in.

The new chat system I am working on has a who's online feature though that works much better though, so that will be added hopefully soon.

FUCK!!! How about letting everyone know what are the system requirements? Have you tested this shit with XP SP3, VISTA, WINDOWS-7, Apple crumb flakes??? This is not Microsoft fuck face and you have not spent hundreds of dollars on software either dick breath. If you were able to post and assuming that you can fucking read it should be obvious you met the minimum system requirements. So shut the fuck up and start raging asshole breath.

Site works on Windows 98 and Firefox 2.0.

Issues:

Comment editing doesn't work anymore.

The comment button now says "Post your rage". Not every comment is a rage.

Chatrooms don't work. You get the message of "Please login to use our chatrooms," even when logged in.

How often do you guys use the edit comment option? It's going to be a few hours of work and I don't want to waste what little time I have on features people don't use. I may just disable comment editing for a week or two until I get more free time.

I need to focus on work for the next few days but here are the planned updates over the next few days in no specific order:

- Fix whos online count for who's online.

- Fix the online status for people so instant messages can be sent.

- Fix profile layouts, friend layouts, and general user details

- Fix a couple of random CSS / layout issues that are annoying the shit out of me.

- Fix the share on facebook and test the sharing features so you bastards will help promote the site.

- Need to add some additional links to the header section when browsing categories (like a back to home, view published rages when in upcoming, etc).

- Fix saving/bookmarking rages if logged in.

- re-adding a wisiwig style editor for posting rages, maybe one for comments.

- Add youtube support.

- Better system for displaying related rages

- Add user "titles" simular to what forums use based on rage submissions / comments / karama.

- Update aonymous users image.

- Better image uploading.

- Various other crap as I find it.

Also has anyone been noticing any spam lately? I don't know if people have been burying it before I see it but so far I haven't seen a single spam comment / rage since the latest update.

I use the edit comment option often and would prefer to keep it if possible. The site is looking good and thank you for the updates.

1. I use the edit feature in almost every post because I find I've fucked up more often than not on something I've posted and need to fix.

2. Spam is still an issue, but not at the levels it once was and is currently controllable.

I have not checked the chat rooms since I made duplicates. Is there going to be a limit on the number of chat rooms with the same name. For example if I made a public, passworded and invite only I would not be able 3 of each and name them all fubar.

It was not about having all those chat rooms. It was about fucking with everything to see what it would do. I found out that it would do perhaps a little to much in this particular area. We do not need some fuck spawning and spamming 100 chat rooms.

Get a fucking life dick head. There was a request for input on site features, problems etc. I do not see where you are exactly assisting with this request by twisting my information into some kind of a fucking witch hunt. The information proposed suggests a potential problem for the site which translates into a problem for site admin. If they have to waste their time fucking around with the stupid shit that assholes do that means they have no time to improve the site for all of us assholes including fucksticks like you. So piss the fuck off and go troll on one of your kiddy porn sites you fuck ass.

Ok I'll move the edit option high up on the list.

As for the chat rooms I will most likely disable room creations since users will have the ability to do user to user chat sessions. And if we need more rooms I can always add them as needed / requested.

I've been trying to come up with a new idea for the Anonymous profile image. Anyone have any good suggestions?

I had 2 ideas for new images:

The first one may cause some "issues" with the anonymous assclowns but hey, pissing people off is fun!

How about the JUST RAGE icon of the middle finger for anon's?

It's classic, about as tasteful as can be expected from a Rage site, and can be Admin's little inside joke on Anon's, as if to say, "Hey, loser, Fuck you, Create an account".
