To All you self-righteous fuckers out there who look down on Pagans, then put up "Holiday" decorations and celebrate the "Holidays" , listen to this:

Paganism is the FIRST religion of the world!!!

For those of you good Christians who pray to saints - most of your "saints" are just the original Pagan Goddesses and Gods with new names that have a "St." added to them. St. Bridgid of Ireland is a case in point.

When you paint Easter Eggs, you are painting Pagan fertility symbols.

Those summertime nights around a blazing bonfire, singing songs and dancing, is a replication of Pagan observances of Midsummer.

The Summer and Winter Solstices and the Spring and Fall Equinoxes were originally celebrated by Pagans to mark the changes in the year.

All those Octoberfests and Harvest Home celebrations are Pagan celebrations you are still carrying out today.

And the ultimate sacred Pagan observance of Samhain is your Halloween - without all the fake witches and gruesome decorations and bullshit.

That Christmas Yule Log you burn and all the mistletoe and all the decorating of trees are just Pagan customs you copied.

So just remember next time you start acting all holier-than-thou about observing YOUR holidays, just where you fucking got them from!!!

Read the book "When Santa Was a Shaman." It makes the direct connections between  christmas and the old pagan religions of europe.

Ah how I love pagans, drinking home made hootch, getting faced and dancing around nakid, making fun of their really poor quality jewelry, laughing at the noobs silently as they proceed to enlighten me about what some Lwyellyn book sadi about "The Burning Times", their rants against LHP and the really bad Halloween costumes they wear for ritual garb......Every once in a while you meet some cool ones who have outgrown the fluffy stage and have a grand time. But it seems the pagan world these days is overflowing with no it all do gooder white light fantasy thinking fucking Lwyellen book reading Scott Cunningham wanna be shit for brains. Sigh And dont even get me startted on the retards who have magical imaginary friends or think they are "Otherkin". Our ancient pagan ancestors would have sacrificed their dumb asses. When I think of Paganism I think of the rich history, like the Vikings who would perform Blood Eagles for Odin, the ancient Brits and their Wicker Men, their bog sacrifices, the wondrous world of ancient Egyptian  sex magic and all of that good stuff! Ancient Greek Oracles sitting in volcanic caves getting high on the fumes, and having sex in fields to ensure fertility for the crops. Yup the real old time non Christian Religions were a fucking blast. Lets shove all the damned Abrahamic Faith following ween bags in a wicker man along with the fluffy bunny Wiccans and light it on fire! Woo Hooo!

I totally agree. Christians are so quick to write off Pagan religion as 'barbaric', while with the Body and Blood of Christ there's cannibalism and vampirism right there.  It seems what they see as barbaric is the ability to think for yourself. And no war has ever been fought in the name of Wicca.

I'm Pagan.  It's nice to see new young Pagans emerging and passionate about their new beliefs. (You can tell the newbies... they love to spout on and on about how their newfound path was first)But really... just put down the Silver RavenWolf books, turn off Charmed, and find yourself an older much more knowledged pagan teacher to help you understand the path.  You will find some guidance in books, but a coven or solitary teacher is your best way.Understand that if you come out of the broom closet as a Pagan, you may be the first and possibly the only one a Christian will meet.  You need to not be screaming in their face that yours is the first religion, that yours helped shape and build theirs, that theirs is wrong and yours is right. You do this, and they are just going to go on thinking we're all crazy ass devil worshippers.  You need to educate them as you are educating yourself.  And be tolerant.  It's what it's all about.And never...ever ever say "Never again the burning times"  If you do, I'll hunt you down myself and stuff you in my cauldron. :)

Oh I agree! I have been a Witch for 35 years now, long before being Pagan was "Cool". While I do appreciate the increase in acceptance that this new movement has brought...well...how do I put this?....I have also noticed that since being Pagan" has become the new in-fashion / social accessory...well, it cheapens it. In the past, I would be afraid for my life to admit I was a Witch...but now, there are times I am EMBARRASSED to admit it! Because of all those cheesy Ravenwolfe books and TV shows, it has become a joke! ..and sometimes I think if I hear one more pimple poppin, bling wearing Wiccan tell me to make sure to "cast my circle three times fold".....I am going to shove their Wiccan Rede straight up there ass!

The reason Christians hate Pagans so much is that they KNOW that's where their religions roots are from.   Think about it.   The God dies and is reborn.  Just like the resurrection of Jesus.   And the other reason they hate Pagans is because of Pagan emphasis on a Goddess as well as a God.   They say the people who piss you off the most are close relations.  So it is with Christianity and Paganism.

What is wrong with us christians is that we have taken everything that Anonymous outlined in the initial post that started this thread. this person has it right. when I have kids...I intend seriously on changing things. we will not have easter eggs hidden. we may not even celebrate christmas like the others do. my only problem is how are we going to do this without sounding or looking like snobs?

There is alot of truth to this statement. In fact,t he bible itself teaches against alot of what "christians" embrace. I am not pagan, but I respect them because they are no more off track than any other religion. In fact I've had some pleasant exchanges wtih them.

As far as costume garb, every human being wears it. You wear a costume to work, to the house, out to play, everywhere. I dress differently because I'm goth and people think it's costume. Not so, it's just different clothing than they wear.

Yeah, some of the jewelry is cheap, but I wear rings with black stones in them and they look like I want them to. If one gets lost, oh well, at least I never paid a grand for the thing.

If you think about it objectively, it in terms of rituals and weird practices, is the Christian, Buddhist, Muslim or any other religion that different? To outsiders, many mainstream religions seem completely crazy, especially their rituals.
