Anonymous raged 11 months ago —— If Jesus is his only son, then are we all girls? If Satan is evil, why does he punish bad people? Why didn't god write the bible instead of humans? I sick of people believing this bullshit about a fairy who created everything with a magic swipe of the hand. All you people who believe in god need some mental help.

Well, if Jesus is God's only son then that means none of us our truly God's children, merely God's creation.

As for Satan and evil, Satan (if it is all to be believed that is) is a force meant to inflict suffering on all man, be he innocent or miscreant.

As for the bible, it was written by man because it is merely stories invented by man with religious intent to provide messages and guidance for how we should live our lives.

And for creation... well dismissing it as the notion of a fairy with a wand is hardly a proper way to go about understanding it. Merely all it is is that when religion came to be, the human mind was simple and naive enough to believe such a thing, and it stuck.

    Creatures of habit we be.

how did we come to be then ?, if you claim it is evolution then how did the first organism which led into evolution come to be ? . it doesnt make sense , say for example they say that the big bang is the beginning of everything .. But then comes another question . How did the big bang happen ? questions after questions can drive you mad , a logical explanation is that god exists . Now im sure you will ask me . "Huh wtf!!! who created God then ? " well the answer is that its not within our reachable knoledge , you wouldnt want something you created to be smarter then you now would you ? if you keep thinking there is no god then you will be crazy before your 50 , say for example if there was no god then whats the point of living ? why not just kill ourself ? why care for the younger generation if you have no more place to go after you die ? i mean whats the point of life then ? you are just scared to admit that you are the one in need of god because god isnt in need for any of us , life isnt complete or would not even make sense if there was no god

You fail upon you and your "science"... How do you suppose the universe was created?

    Nothing + Nothing = Nothing

You lose, I win... God exists...

But you are entitled to your opinion.

There isn't, and has never been, any evidence for the existence of any god.

How was the universe created? Watch the first episode of "Curiosity" with Stephen Hawking (on the Discovery Channel, or just download/watch it online). It answers this perfectly. Spoiler alert: it wasn't God.

I suggest you all watch a few Richard Dawkings, Brian Cox, etc. videos, so you know what the hell you're rambling on about.

Just so you know, Christian belief is that Satan doesn't punish anyone, God is the one who punishes the sinners by casting them into the lake of fire. Satan simply tempts people to sin and join him in rebellion against God.

Most religions have five things in common which are . . .

    1. A God (or Gods) you must be worthy to be in the presence of.

    2. A heirarchy with a set of rules and conditions you must obey in order to be worthy to be in the presence of God.

    3. A standard by which you are judged worthy to be in the presence of God and that, whoever you are and whatever you do, you will fall short of meeting.

    4. A heirarchy that make the rules and enforces your obedience to them to prepare you to be worthy to be in the presence of God.

    5. A billing system (called donations or tithing) that allows the heirarchy to charge you for maintaining the system by which they judge you unworthy to be in the presence of God. You will continue to be charged until the heirarchy deems you worthy to be in the presence of God. This usually takes place at your funeral, depending on how much your family is willing to cough up to bring your worthiness account up to date and settlement.

That's just about the size of things with most religions.

KPissed - Who knows why they use the word "denominations" when speaking of faiths.

This always bothers me. I don't think you should just outright bash on someone's belief unless that belief is something like "raping and killing children is the best thing ever and no one should be able to stop someone from doing it" yeah. But believing something religious is harmless...Usually. I mean there are cults and extremists. However straight up, there is no proof of God, and no solid proof there isn't God either. I don't agree with the religion bashers but religious people that stoop to their level in defense is just dumb.

I don't get it. Especially when someone says there is no God or is an Athiest and instantly the followers of a religion start insulting science. Uh, what? Athiest does not equal science. If a Christian said science is stupid, a true Athiest should be like "...Okay, what does that have to do with my lack of faith?"

I'll just use the most common group for these type of debates from now on: Christians. You see, the reason Christians bring up science in a religious debate is because they think Science is anti-God. Science is simply a man-made concept to find the answers to whatever we can, coincidentally, a lot of these answers are controversial because they give theories and explanations to questions already answered in the Bible. Many Christians see something that challenges or questions Gods existence as a threat or insult. Any true Christian would not be wavered by such claims that an Athiest or scientist would make, because they forget that being a Christian heavily involves a little something called Faith.

You don't KNOW God is real. Knowing something is pretty much restricted to the physical world. But that shouldn't matter, because you have FAITH. You have Faith that everything the bible says is true, you have Faith that there is a Heaven and you'll go to it when you die, and you have Faith that God exists at all. Which is why you say "I BELIEVE in God." I don't know why it bothers so many people so much. The Church has had enough bad history with being closed-minded and hostile, yet I still see examples of it today, isn't it time things changed for the better?

Lastly, "Nothing + Nothing = Nothing? Your science has failed." I find it HILARIOUS that they used MATHEMATICAL structure for their argument, which is purely based on logical equation and a form of SCIENCE. Also, you want to know the truth about that? We don't know the answer. We simply don't and probably never will. How did everything begin? It's unknown. Every Religion on the planet with a Creation story or theory was made to answer the question of creation itself. As time went on, Science tried it's hand at explaining that huge question as well. However neither know, Science deals in theories and speculation. Religion deals in faith. But who cares? Maybe there's some things humans weren't meant to know. But why dwell on it? This world has enough problems in the present, that need focus for the future, for you to be worrying about something so long lost in the past. Anyway, not truly knowing how everything started for certain does not mean God automatically exists, it means it's a possible answer to that question. Likewise, Science producing possibilities, however likely or unlikely, of how everything was created does not automatically mean God cannot exist.

Simple, right? I doubt many people will read my whole post, however that does not bother me.

Some people need God to explain humans. See, they like to believe that there is an entity out there keeping track of good and bad. They are like pavlovian dogs, they need a reward for being good instead of finding that happiness in themselves that being good is the way to thrive in a society. How many serial killers can you name that were non-religious. Religion isn't where good stems from. It's individual.

@Zombot If everyone is entitled to their opinions, then OP is allowed to bash others' opinions, because that is an opinion. And why can only certain beliefs be bashed? On a separate note, if Nothing + Nothing = Nothing, then how in the Hell does Nothing + Nothing = GOD?

There is a huge difference between "Faith" and "Religion". In my opinion, most, if not all indoctrinated religion, is for the lazy or the weak. Sort of a "borrowed" belief system for those to primitive, or shallow to go deep and find their own. It's neat and tidy and spelled out for you...easy peasy religion. But faith, by it's very nature, is an internal, one member system. The minute it is written and followed by anyone else it becomes adulterated. Don't get me wrong, I am all for people communing with other, like minded people, but not to the degree, that you accept their system of belief without question. This is not unique to the Christian religion either. I have seen it in the Pagan community a lot. Conformity is conformity, no matter which side of the cosmos it starts at. Their are Pagan traditionalist, who are just as close minded and strict as their Christian counterparts. I never quite understood those people. I humbly suggest that "God" does not posses a human ego, or need of one. Call Him/Her/Them, Jehovah, Allah, Higgs Bosen Particle, or Ralph. It the end, it will still BE what it is, no matter what we call it. So define it however you need to organize it in your own mind...but for crying out loud.......don't push it on anyone else!

ZomBot, the Bible does actually promote rape and murder, of children too not just adults. Google 'evilbible', first search result. One of the many reasons why I do not and do not want to believe in God.

If jesus is gods son, and god is jesus, and they are both the holy spirit, does that make him or her a multi personality? And why would any father impregnate his own daughter, the master plan being to go on a suicide mission? It is pathetic how people flat refuse to think, but that is what religion teaches. If you think...you're going to "hell".

    Religion is Fucking Sick.
