After thinking that I had seen the ultimate in time wasting, ridiculous penny-wise/pound stupid, bullshit (courtesy of our Government), I have to admit I was wrong.
Today I saw a "news" article on the internet about people who have camped out on a line forming outside Best Buy so they would be in line to get into the store ahead of everyone else on Black Friday - a full eight fucking days from today!!!
Assuming the people waiting on this camp out line have the money to buy the shit the store is hawking on Black Friday at the "lowest prices of the season", they must work at some kind of job. Accepting the premise that these store campers are gainfully employed, three questions come to my mind as follows:
1. No matter how great the savings on the sale prices, is it equal to an entire week's pay or the loss of entire weeks vacation time?
2. If they are using sick time to do their "camp out", are they not worried that someone from their job won't see them and report them, thereby rendering them unemployed and, hence unable to pay for all the shit they plan to buy?
3. What are the odds that these civilized people, who so strongly believe in the principal of waiting on line patiently that they are willing to sacrifice eight days of life and income, will be able to out-push, out-shove, out-jump and out-fight all the welfare recipients who will charge through the store doors within a second of the store opening, like a herd of stampeding cattle?
This entire "Holiday" sale shit has reached a level of time wasting stupidity that more than qualifies every one who participates in this type of spectacle for a job in the government. At least they will be sure to get Black Friday off from work for next year's "sale".
