Just realized something. Were all going to die sometime so why live through this shit hole called life? What is waiting for me after highschool? I am to stupid to get into UNI and what else is there? So I'm a part of a pretty amazing group of people, we don't have much money, but we have heart, brains and talent. We put on a small fundraiser for a friends sister who has had serious medical issues since birth. My band played free for entertainment, friends I had invited (from outside the group) came and donated items for a silent auction, 4 of my friends SHAVED THEIR HEADS as a fundraiser (the hair was donated to a local cancer wig-making charity) and raised $250 by raffling off chances to hold the clippers...I promoted the event on all of my personal networks and ended up practically running the whole thing... We raised over $1000.00 to donate to the family to help with incidentals and trips to and from physical therapy, etc...not a lot, but when you don't have anything,and are crushed under insurmountable medical debt, it means the world.....and I just got a call telling me that the family has gotten nothing...the "friend" took it....- and claimed that she put it in a "trust fund" that her little sister could access when she turns 18.....in SIX FUCKING YEARS...for which she has no paper trail- no bank account, no deposit info, nothing...she fucking took it and put it in her pocket and has been spending it on herself for weeks. I am beyond livid...what kind of cretinous excuse for a human being uses her sick kid sister to make a quick buck off of people? Now I am at a loss, do I report her for fraud? If so- HOW? Do I tell all the goodhearted people who donated time and money and their HAIR that it was all a scam? I am heartsick and furious and at a total loss- Okay- I was scammed, I can get over it, but all the people who came and all my bandmates and my friends who shaved their heads thinking they were doing something good for someone...all the people who gave more than they could in this shitty economy, because they are good decent people...it's my fault that they got scammed too...I truly do not understand how horrid some people are...it makes me want to puke.

Astrophysicists are jerk-offs that think so highly of themselves that they blind themselves to common sense. They possess such a religious fervor for their textbooks that they are completely unable to conceive of the thought that their precious textbooks could be wrong. The effect that this is having upon science is literally inconceivable. From debates over the anthropogenic nature of global warming to the story of human history and this planet, nearly no scientific discipline goes untouched by their arrogance because many scientific disciplines look to them to formulate their own scientific assumptions. Even though the large majority of them just play with equations all day long, they will gladly refute the findings of those people that work within the laboratory (in particular, laboratory plasma physicists) -- the implicit assumption being that their models and equations possess more physicality than laboratory experimentation. It's completely ludicrous. These assholes drape themselves behind the aura of peer reviewed science even though their philosophical approach to science is inherently pseudo-scientific. These people are literally nuts. It's basically a cult. And people are falling for it! They've managed to convince people that the universe is filled with 95% "dark matter" and that the stuff we see only represents that remaining 5%. And the fact that a dark matter particle has never ever been observed, after 20 years of trying, apparently does not temper their confidence in the least. They never stop to wonder if perhaps some of the underlying assumptions inherent to their theories might be wrong ... because that would suggest that they themselves are fallible. Whenever they see something in the sky that doesn't make sense to them, they just draw up new equations, propose new physics and invent new forms of matter to accommodate the observation. They never stop to think for a moment, "Hey, maybe we're all jackasses?! Maybe our initial assumptions are invalid ..." That would be far too traumatic for them, so they roll every observation they make into their precious Standard Model, while completely ignoring and ridiculing those people who propose that the entire house of cards be scrapped for an alternative paradigm. Even though very little of the public ever comes into contact with one of these pieces of crap, all of our lives are affected by them every day that goes by. They bear a sizeable chunk of the burden for the energy predicament that we currently find ourselves in. Their inability and unwillingness to think outside of the box has stagnated our sciences and lowers our quality of lives. There should be a special ring of hell reserved for astrophysicists. Were they not so vocal in their ignorance, they could be excused. But these guys accept no criticism from anybody that is not trained precisely just like them. Poor idiots ... Their training *IS* the problem.
